At Iowa Icons, competing is important—but developing complete players is our mission. We believe great athletes are built through consistent instruction, purposeful practice, and a positive environment that challenges every player to improve.
Our coaches focus on teaching the fundamentals of baseball while helping players develop confidence, discipline, leadership, and a strong work ethic.
Every practice is designed with intention. Players receive age-appropriate instruction, game-like repetitions, and individualized coaching that helps them grow at their own pace. We celebrate effort, encourage resilience, and teach our athletes how to compete the right way—with respect for teammates, opponents, and the game itself.
Our goal is simple: help every player become the best version of themselves—on and off the field.

Every player develops at a different pace. Our goal isn't to make every player the same—it's to help each player continue moving forward from where they are today.
At this age, development isn't about specializing or creating a finished baseball player. It's about building a strong foundation.
We want our players to learn the fundamentals, understand the game and gain the confidence to compete in different situations.
As their skills grow, we gradually challenge them with more advanced concepts—while making sure they continue to enjoy playing baseball.
